What are the Requirements for the 2024 Chevening Scholarships?

To be eligible for the Chevening Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
  • Commit to returning to their home country for at least two years after completing the award.
  • Apply for a full-time Master’s program, lasting 12 months.
  • Hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to an upper second class 2:1 honors degree in the UK (with a GPA in the range of 60-69%.)
  • Apply to three different university courses in the UK and obtain an unconditional offer letter for one of the courses.
  • Have two years of work experience or 2,800 hours of work experience. (Internships and National Service counts as work experience.)
  • British nationals or dual British citizens are ineligible, except for British overseas territory citizens applying from Hong Kong.
  • Holders of refugee status in a non-Chevening country are not eligible, except for those in Chevening member countries.
  • Employees, former employees, or relatives of current and former employees of Her Majesty’s Government, or members of Commonwealth Universities Association member organizations are not eligible.
  • Applicants already in the UK under UK Government funding cannot apply.
