  • Need-based aid

Roanoke College proudly offers need-based scholarships for international students to support them in achieving their academic goals. Regardless of your parent’s annual income, one qualifies for a need-based scholarship. From US News, on average, $34,000 is given to each first-year student. Students must apply to Roanoke College before being eligible for their need-based scholarship.

  • Merit-based aid

This scholarship is automatically awarded after being accepted to Roanoke College. Although education at Roanoke College is not as expensive as the Ivy League we know about, one has to have a minimum high school GPA of 3.35 or above to benefit from this aid. Based on the criteria, individuals are likely to receive an amount determined by their GPA:

  • 4.0+ GPA = $20,000.
  • 3.80 GPA = $18,000.
  • 3.50 GPA = $16,000.
  • 3.35 GPA = $14,000.

Note: Applicants with a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 and a 1200 SAT/25 ACT or higher at the time of acceptance to Roanoke College will receive an additional $1,000 merit award.

Roanoke College Honors Program

The Roanoke College Honors Program is tailored for high-achieving students who demonstrate strong academic excellence, possess robust leadership skills, and actively engage in extracurricular activities. Invited students from Roanoke College can benefit from this program.
Below are questions about the Honor Program. Applicants are encouraged to respond with clarity and conciseness:

  • What do you expect from your liberal arts education at Roanoke College?
  • Provide your mini-autobiography ten years from now. In other words, write a brief “fact sheet” that might be used as a press release for you ten years from now.
  • Describe an experience that you feel has changed your life.
  • To date, what academic class or endeavor has had the most profound effect on your outlook? Why?
  • What is the most important thing you want us to know about you?

To be considered for the above-listed scholarship packages, students must apply to Roanoke College:

  1. Sign Up as a first-year student on Common App.
  2. Fill in the required details by Common App.
