
University of Manitoba Work-Study Program is now open for undergraduate and postgraduate students. This program provides on-campus part-time employment opportunities for students with financial needs during their studies. The aim is to help students gain valuable work experience and skills.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the University of Manitoba Work-Study Program in Canada, applicants are required to meet the following conditions:
- Have proof of a 2023-2024 government student aid package of at least $2,000; proof of 2023-2024 Indigenous band sponsorship, Metis Nation post-secondary funding, or disability funding.
- Be registered at the University of Manitoba as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in both terms (Fall 2023 and Winter 2024). Students must have a minimum 60% course load (i.e., nine credit hours per term for undergraduate students).
- Have achieved a satisfactory academic standing with a minimum 2.0 institutional grade point average in their previous academic session (not applicable for new UM students)
- Be residing in Manitoba throughout the Work-Study employment term.
Only international students with government student loans or aid for 2023-2024 from their home country are eligible. Private/educational bank loans aren’t accepted; no exceptions. Attach proof of government funding to the application.

Application Process
Interested applicants should follow these steps to apply for the University of Manitoba Work-Study Program in Canada:
- Complete the Work-Study intake process.
- Attend a group orientation session.
- Apply for Work-Study positions.
Students must reapply for the Work-Study program each year due to financial aid requirements.
To apply for Work-Study:
- Register or log in to UMConnect.
- Navigate to [Work-Study].
- Then Work-Study Program Application in the left-hand navigation panel.
- Fill out and submit the form for pre-approved Work-Study access. After submission, click the “Accept” button under “Action required by you” to view and apply to job postings.
- Attach documents proving your eligibility, such as copies of your 2023-2024 financial aid assistance, Indigenous band sponsorship, or disability funding.
